The Council of the District of Columbia announced a proclamation as a result of the work of the DC Limited Equity Cooperative Task Force, of which Hugh Jeffers (NAHC Chair of the Development and Preservation Committee) and Vernon Oakes (NAHC Past President) are contributing parties. NAHC was represented in testimony this summer before Councilwoman Anita Bonds, by Gregory J. Carlson (NAHC Chairman), Fred K. Gibbs (NAHC President) and Judy Sullivan (NAHC Government Relations Representative). NAHC representatives spoke in support of the work of this Task Force. NAHC is very proud of this huge acknowledgment by our nation’s capital that promotes and affirms that housing cooperatives are an answer to the affordable housing crisis facing our nation.
