NAHC supports, certifies, and educates professionals, organizations, and individuals interested in promoting the interests of cooperative housing communities. Founding in 1960, NAHC has a proven legacy of advocating for the 1.5 million families living in the cooperative housing in the US.

  • All members are eligible to vote at the Annual Meeting, to elect the board of directors, and to address other matters of concern to the association. Direct housing cooperatives members have one vote per household unit; NAHC Individual members have one vote; members joining through their chapter region agrees to have their Region vote on their behalf

Member Types 

  • Housing Cooperative Member
    $3.50 per unit + $30 base fee

    There is a cap of $1,200.00 on dues for large cooperatives. As part of the annual NAHC membership, housing cooperatives receive all the member benefits listed in the membership packet.

  • Professional Member
    $400.00 Add additional professional in the firmfor $100.00 each*.

    This category includes professional individuals, professional firms, libraries, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies.

    *Each additional paid professional is listed separately in the NAHC Directory of Professional Members.

  • Individual Member
    $100.00

    Individual memberships are offered to non-professionals who have an interest in, seek to support or learn more about cooperative housing.

Member Dues

NAHC dues are based Membership dues run on a calendar year, January 1 – December 31 and are based on your membership categories. NAHC does not prorate annual membership dues.
