Stakeholder Community,
We are excited to invite you to our April Stakeholder HUDdle where we will discuss HUD’s newly proposed Section 3 rule and HUD can help low-income individuals achieve self-sufficiency.
This past Wednesday, HUD published a proposed rule to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968. Section 3 requires employment, training, contracting, and other economic opportunities generated by certain HUD financial assistance to be directed to the greatest extent feasible to low- and very low-income persons, especially recipients of government assistance for housing, and to businesses that provide economic opportunities to low- and very low-income persons. See the proposed rule here.
Please join us to hear remarks from Secretary Carson, insights from public housing authorities and policy experts.
