2020 Annual Meeting

Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 2:00 pm Eastern Time / 1:00 pm CT, 12:00 MT, 11:00 am PT.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. Voting will be done electronically using the online platform with ElectionBuddy’s Registration system. This way we have we know who is voting on behalf of each member.

Notice is hereby given that the Annual Membership Meeting for the Election of Directors of NAHC on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 2:00 PM. The Annual Meeting shall be held on electronically on Zoom. 

The purpose of the 2020 Annual Meeting shall be to elect five (5) persons to the naturally expiring NAHC Board of Directors terms, all of which are expiring three-year terms, and consider certain amendments to the NAHC Bylaws, which are attached hereto. The membership will consider other business that rightfully may come before the body of members.

If you are interested in becoming a candidate, Download the Board Candidacy Packet and visit the Board Candiates Resource page for additional information. There is a required pre-announcement date for any person considering being a candidate, so as to allow for our meeting to be held electronically.

All motions or resolutions that are proposed to be made from the floor for consideration by NAHC members must be submitted in advance of the Annual Meeting to BOTH the NAHC President, Fred Gibbs, fred@fkgibbs.com and the NAHC Secretary Karen Harvey, kareharvey@aol.com or by 5:00 pm EST on Monday, October 12, 2020.

The Agenda for the meeting shall be as follows:

  1. Determination of quorum
  2. Approval of the minutes from the previous Annual Meeting – written minutes
  3. Report of Officers, Directors and Committees – written reports
  4. Election of Directors and Vote on Proposed Bylaw Amendments
  5. Appointment of Directors by Association Members
  6. Unfinished Business
  7. New Business
  8. Adjournment

We encourage all Members (Associations, Individuals, and Professionals) to participate in this year’s Annual Meeting of members. Please be aware that most cooperatives are members of NAHC through a Regional Member Association, such as MAHC, CAHC, CSI, CHANE, FNYHC, PAHC, NJFHC, etc., and do not have a vote separate from the vote cast of the Regional Member Association. If you are not certain if your membership in NAHC was processed by your Regional Member Association, please contact either your Regional Member Association or NAHC’s Executive Director’s office found at the footer of this notice.

Voting at the Annual Meeting is only by 1) the Regional Member Association; or 2) Direct Members of NAHC Cooperatives, Individuals, and Professionals who pay their dues directly to NAHC.

Regional Member Associations will hold caucuses electronically on Zoom at a date and time that will be announced to determine how the Regional Association Members will cast their ballots for the open Board positions. Direct Members of NAHC Cooperative will also have a Zoom Caucus for this same purpose. Cooperatives represented through their Regional Association can NOT pull their votes out of the Regional Association votes unless they join NAHC as a Direct Member.

Election Volunteers: Typically, the Board requests that two members attending the Annual Conference volunteer to serve on the Credentials Committee to assist with the tallying of the votes. This year, all voting will be tabulated by a third-party electronic voting service, Election Buddy. Please see the pre-registration instructions on the accompanying notices.
